Fairfax County students preparing for healthcare careers will gain broader access to hands-on training through a new $200,000 donation to Educate Fairfax.
The Claude Moore Charitable Foundation presented the contribution during a December ceremony at Falls Church Academy. The money will support Fairfax County Public Schools’ Career and Technical Education Health and Medical Sciences program.
The investment will help students pursue industry-aligned learning through modern laboratories, professional certifications and clinical experiences. During the foundation’s visit, students and teachers explained how those opportunities prepare learners for high-demand healthcare fields.
The donation continues a partnership that has directed more than $2.19 million to FCPS Health and Medical Sciences programs since 2016. The Claude Moore Scholars initiative has helped strengthen technical education pathways for students throughout Fairfax County.
Representatives from the foundation, Educate Fairfax, FCPS and the School Board attended the event alongside academy and school administrators.
Educate Fairfax is a nonprofit education foundation that develops community partnerships and raises money to support FCPS students. Falls Church Academy is one of the school division’s specialized centers offering advanced technical courses that combine career training with academic preparation.
