$200,000 Gift Expands Fairfax Students’ Path to Healthcare Careers

A $200,000 donation will support hands-on healthcare education for Fairfax County Public Schools students pursuing careers in health and medicine.

A $200,000 donation will support hands-on healthcare education for Fairfax County Public Schools students pursuing careers in health and medicine.

Educate Fairfax received the funding from the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation during a December 2025 ceremony at Falls Church Academy. The money will benefit the school division’s Career and Technical Education Health and Medical Sciences program.

Students and teachers at the event described how modern laboratories, industry certifications and clinical experiences are preparing learners for high-demand healthcare fields.

The contribution continues a partnership that has directed more than $2.19 million to FCPS Health and Medical Sciences programs since 2016. The Claude Moore Scholars initiative has helped strengthen technical education pathways for students throughout Fairfax County.

Representatives from the foundation, Educate Fairfax, FCPS and the School Board attended the ceremony alongside academy and school administrators.

Educate Fairfax is a nonprofit education foundation that develops community partnerships and raises money for FCPS students. Falls Church Academy is one of the school division’s high school academies, which offer specialized technical courses combining career training with academic preparation.
