Falls Church Arts will open “Full Circle,” a 45-piece mixed-media exhibition featuring 42 artists, with a free public reception from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11.

Running through Feb. 23, the show explores circles in both visual and conceptual forms, including the idea of “coming full circle.” The selected works span two- and three-dimensional media, including oil, watercolor, acrylic and mixed-media painting, digital and traditional photography, glass and metal sculpture.

Juror Sharon Malley will announce the Juror’s Choice Award during the opening reception. Malley is an Arlington-based artist at Columbia Pike Artist Studios whose professional work has focused on arts, disability, arts education and special education. She previously served as a national leader at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Malley said the submissions offered a broad range of media, with an unusually large number of skillfully executed pieces using black and white or neutral palettes. Many artists approached the theme through graphic representations of circles and clean lines, creating what she described as a cohesive exhibition connected by ideas of completeness.

Visitors may also vote for the People’s Choice Award at the gallery through Feb. 7.

The exhibition will be displayed at the Falls Church Arts gallery, 700-B West Broad St. in Falls Church. Admission is free. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The artwork will also be available to view and purchase online, with purchases offered at the gallery as well.
