An Alexandria police officer has been served with a reckless-driving summons after a pursuit of a stolen vehicle ended in a collision that left him and another driver with minor injuries.
The crash occurred around 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Franklin and South Patrick streets. Officer Damon Frazier was pursuing the stolen vehicle when his vehicle collided with a civilian driver.
Both Frazier and the civilian were taken to a local hospital. No other injuries were reported.
The Alexandria Commonwealth’s Attorney determined that Frazier should receive a summons for reckless driving, a Class 1 misdemeanor.
Frazier joined the Alexandria Police Department on Oct. 30, 2023. He remains on duty while the department conducts an administrative review.
Alexandria police said all officers must complete the Emergency Vehicle Operations Course, which covers safe driving during emergencies and pursuits. The department said no additional details were available.
