Fairfax County cyclists will find 28 pit stops offering free shirts, snacks and other giveaways during Bike to Work Day on Friday, May 15.

The countywide lineup is part of a regional effort encouraging commuters to replace solo car trips with bicycle rides. People working remotely can participate by riding to a pit stop before returning home, while stops near transit centers and park-and-ride lots can support longer commutes.

Registration remains open. Cyclists do not need to register to visit a stop, but signing up reserves this year’s purple Bike to Work Day T-shirt.

Created by the League of American Bicyclists in 1956, Bike to Work Day became a regional Washington event in 2001 and now attracts tens of thousands of participants. The local event is organized by the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments and its Commuter Connections program alongside the Washington Area Bicyclist Association.

Annandale and Falls Church
