For nearly 12 years, Tracey Wynne has helped Fairfax County Public Schools communicate with staff, families, and community members, including during transitions and emerging situations.
As senior manager of communications, Wynne oversees teams responsible for the FCPS website, newsletters, and communication toolkits. Those toolkits give school division leaders prepared messages about strategic initiatives. She also assists principals with communications for their school communities.
Her work focuses on informing and engaging the public while supporting student success and strengthening trust in the school division. Colleagues credit her thoughtful collaboration, professionalism, and composure when challenges arise.
“Throughout numerous transitions and emergent situations, Tracey has consistently demonstrated a calm, decisive, and solutions-oriented approach,” Chief Experience Officer Lisa Youngblood Hall said.
Hall added that Wynne often steps in proactively to help schools and families receive timely, empathetic information during critical moments. She described Wynne’s steady leadership as a source of reassurance for school leaders and their communities.
In 2025, Wynne was named a finalist for Outstanding Nonschool-Based Professional Employee.
Wynne emphasizes customer service and takes pride in working alongside colleagues who share her commitment to public education. She and other school communications professionals will be recognized on School Communicators Day on Friday, May 8.
