Chocolate Drinks and Sweet Pairings Take Over Old Town Square

Chocolate flowed in many forms at a festival in Old Town Square, where visitors sampled everything from stout beer and wine pairings to cream soda and milk.

Chocolate flowed in many forms at a festival in Old Town Square, where visitors sampled everything from stout beer and wine pairings to cream soda and milk.

Daneesha Davis and Jessica Tavenner tried Teddy Bear Stout Beer, while Cram and Rob Hamrick paired Rosa Brachetto wine with a dark-chocolate feuilletine crisp. Chris Halferty and Dinah Herring of The Wine House also served Brachetto d’Acqui wine.

Morais Vineyards representatives Rebecca and Catherine Ricciardi and Jackie Christian offered cherry wine paired with chocolate cups.

Younger visitors had alcohol-free choices. Brothers Aaron Kopleff, 5½, and Ethan, 9, enjoyed chocolate cream soda, while Fairfax sisters Ainsley Poshek, 4, and Audrey Poshek, 8, drank chocolate milk from Whole Foods.

Maggie Ayers and Lauri Vargas, representing Fairfax Ace Hardware, served an assortment of chocolate sodas. A large “LOVE” sign welcomed festivalgoers to Old Town Square.
