Fairfax County police are seeking the public’s help identifying a man suspected of trying to drag a cyclist into the woods shortly after exposing himself to another woman at Wakefield Park in Annandale.
Officers responded to the park at 8100 Braddock Road around 1:40 p.m. Sunday after a woman reported that a man had exposed himself to her.
About 40 minutes later, another woman called police to report an attempted abduction in the same park. She said she was riding along a trail when a man stepped in front of her bicycle, forcing her to swerve and get off.
The man then tried to grab her and pull her into the woods, according to police. She pushed him away and escaped on foot.
Medics treated the woman at the scene for minor injuries. Officers searched the park but did not find the suspect.
Investigators believe the same man was involved in both incidents. Police released a composite sketch of him on June 22.
The suspect is described as approximately 30 to 40 years old, about 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a medium build and medium complexion. He was clean-shaven and wore a white T-shirt with a design on the back, dark pants and a black baseball cap.
