A Saturday morning trip to the Fairfax Farmers’ Market turned chaotic when an elderly driver lost control of her vehicle and plowed into a vendor stand, injuring a woman and a child.
The crash occurred around 11 a.m. in the parking lot near Main Street Center. According to Fairfax County police, the driver confused the gas pedal with the brake, sending her car careening into the crowded market area.
Both victims were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver was not hurt in the incident.
The farmers’ market remained open as police continued their investigation into the crash. Police said the collision happened in the market’s parking area near Main Street Center. Authorities reported that neither victim suffered life-threatening injuries.
