Six Fairfax County golfers earned spots on the Virginia High School League’s 10-player Class 6 all-state team for the 2024 fall season.
Edison High School’s Owen Love led the group after winning his second consecutive individual state championship. Love defeated Robinson Secondary School’s Raquel Walker in a playoff after both golfers recorded 2-under-par rounds of 70 during the 18-hole state tournament.
Walker finished as the state runner-up and joined Love on the all-state team.
Love also captured the National District individual championship during the fall and helped Edison place second in the district. He previously won the Class 6 state title in 2023.
Four other Fairfax County golfers received all-state honors: Langley High School’s Sophie Cao and Sarah Wang, Robinson’s Sydney Dinh and C.G. Woodson’s Han Lee.
Cao placed third at the state tournament, Dinh tied for fourth, Wang finished sixth and Lee took seventh. All six Fairfax County selections finished among the tournament’s top 10 players.
Before the state competition, Cao won the 6D North Region individual championship and helped Langley secure both regional and state team titles alongside Wang. Walker won the 6C North Region tournament, where Love finished third.
