Fairfax County Public Schools students earned 31 national Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, securing recognition for work spanning visual art, photography, jewelry and writing.

The honors, announced April 1, 2025, include one American Visions Award, 11 Gold Medals, 16 Silver Medals and three portfolio Honorable Mentions. More than 250,000 students nationwide participated in this year’s program.

National medalists are scheduled to be honored at Carnegie Hall in New York City in June. Selected winning pieces will also appear in a New York exhibition and a traveling exhibition during the following year.

American Visions Award

Cindy Chan of McLean High School received the American Visions Award for “Pearfections of a Woman,” a ceramics and glass work.
