Fairfax County Public Schools students in grades 7 through 12 earned 809 honors in the 2025 Regional Scholastic Art Awards, including 210 Gold Keys, 235 Silver Keys and 364 Honorable Mentions.
Students competed across a wide range of categories, including drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, ceramics, sculpture, digital art, design, architecture, jewelry, fashion, film and animation, mixed media and art portfolios.
Four FCPS works were nominated for the American Visions Award, the program’s best-in-show honor:
- “Pearfections of a Woman” by Cindy Chan of McLean High School
- “Looming” by Chloe Dehn of Madison High School
- “Faith” by Hurie Ikram of West Potomac High School
- “The Road Not Taken” by Alan Wang of McLean High School
Gold Key artwork will be exhibited at Northern Virginia Community College’s Ernst Community Cultural Center in Annandale from Feb. 17 through March 13. A Silver Key ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, March 4, followed by a Gold Key ceremony on Wednesday, March 5.
Presented by the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers, the Scholastic Art Awards program was established in 1923. Past recipients include Richard Avedon, Robert Indiana, Phillip Pearlstein and Andy Warhol.
