The Fairfax Symphony Orchestra is filling the second half of its 2025–2026 season with Broadway performances, live film music, classical premieres and a musical journey through Europe.
Grammy-winning classical guitarist Berta Rojas opens the upcoming schedule Feb. 7 with “The Soul of Tango,” featuring music inspired by Astor Piazzolla.
Three-time Tony Award winner Patti LuPone takes the stage March 5 with the 25th-anniversary tour of “Matters of the Heart,” a theatrical concert centered on love, heartbreak and song.
On March 7, flutist Demarre McGill joins the orchestra for the world premiere of Jonathan Leshnoff’s Flute Concerto No. 2. The program also includes Mozart’s Flute Concerto No. 2 and Mendelssohn’s “Italian” Symphony.
The orchestra will perform John Powell’s score for “How to Train Your Dragon” live alongside a screening of the DreamWorks film March 14 at Capital One Hall.
Travel host Rick Steves joins the symphony March 29 for “Rick Steves’ Europe: A Symphonic Journey,” combining European storytelling and visuals with orchestral selections.
The season concludes May 31 with pianist Claire Huangci performing Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3. Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 5 is also on the program.
Concerts will be held at venues including the Harris Theatre, George Mason University’s Center for the Arts and Capital One Hall. The orchestra plans to announce additional concerts and special events for the season.
