Fairfax County Public Schools reported four Class 6 Virginia High School League team championships and 11 championship entries during the 2025-26 school year, along with five team runner-up finishes and nine runner-up entries.

The team champions were Chantilly High School in the fall League of Legends esports tournament; Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Scholastic Bowl; Langley High School in debate; and McLean High School in the Film Festival public service announcement category.

Students from several FCPS schools also won individual or paired VHSL events. Samuel Stankiewicz and Sharahil Mahmud of Thomas Jefferson won the policy debate championship, while Stankiewicz also won the policy debate speaker championship. James Madison High School students Neel Kamath and Jason Reznikov won public forum debate.

Langley students earned three titles: Elakshi Nedungottil won Lincoln-Douglas debate, Victoria Starykh won student congress debate, and Caden Peng and Kylie Pereira Kim won humorous duo interpretation. Johannes Jangam of Marshall High School won extemporaneous speaking, while Thomas Jefferson’s Arnav Dusad won original oratory.

Chantilly’s Brooke Ciriacks won humorous dramatic interpretation. Gwyneth Kemeny of James Madison won poetry inspiration, and Adeline Regal and Fiona Regal of Marshall won serious duo interpretation.

The reported team runner-up finishes included Thomas Jefferson in debate, Chantilly in speech, McLean in the Film Festival commercial category, and Robinson Secondary School in both the documentary and narrative categories of the Film Festival.

Nine additional runner-up entries were listed. Chantilly’s Lais Borges and Veer Sawhney placed second in public forum debate, while Natalia Voloshin of Robinson was runner-up in Lincoln-Douglas debate and Vibhav Seth of Thomas Jefferson was runner-up in student congress debate. Paola Mascola of Robinson placed second in impromptu speech.

In interpretation events, Isabella An of Fairfax High School was runner-up in humorous dramatic interpretation, and Alden Walcott of South Lakes High School placed second in serious dramatic interpretation. Chantilly’s Trisha Upadhyay was runner-up in prose interpretation. Carlin Adjula and Saron Walelign of Justice High School placed second in humorous duo interpretation, while Reagan Shin and Julia Klun of Chantilly were runners-up in serious duo interpretation.

FCPS also highlighted student-media honors announced in October 2025. Nineteen FCPS publications received VHSL Media Championships Trophy Class recognition for work completed during the 2024-25 school year.

The magazine honorees came from Marshall, McLean and Oakton high schools. Chantilly, McLean and Thomas Jefferson publications were recognized in the newsmagazine category, while Annandale received Trophy Class recognition for a newspaper.

Chantilly and McLean publications were honored in online news and broadcast. Yearbook honorees represented Chantilly, Marshall, Hayfield Secondary, Justice, Lake Braddock Secondary, Langley, McLean and Thomas Jefferson.
