A former after-school contractor who worked in Fairfax County Public Schools pleaded guilty Tuesday, March 4, to seven charges involving minors.

Arturo Elmore-Adon, 26, admitted to two counts of possessing child pornography, four counts of unlawfully videotaping a minor and one count of sexual battery. No sentencing agreement has been reached.

The case began in August, when Elmore-Adon was charged with inappropriately touching a child at a store in Reston’s South Lakes Village Shopping Center.

Later that month, Fairfax County police filed 15 additional charges for possession of child sexual abuse material. The allegations appeared to be connected to Elmore-Adon’s work as an independent contractor in after-school programs at several county schools.

A search of his cellphone uncovered three videos that appeared to have been recorded at Churchill Road Elementary School in McLean. Police said students had been filmed without their knowledge.

Investigators accused Elmore-Adon of recording female students between 6 and 8 years old from behind as they bent over. Court documents said one video appeared to have been positioned to look up a student’s shorts.

Police also reported finding four similar videos believed to have been recorded at Fox Mill Elementary School in Herndon. More than 400 additional videos and images downloaded from international websites were discovered, according to investigators.

Elmore-Adon worked with FCPS during the 2022-23 school year through Baroody Camps, a Falls Church-based vendor that operates after-school programs and summer camps. Superintendent Michelle Reid said he had passed an FCPS background check conducted in 2022 before being assigned to schools.

Elmore-Adon is scheduled to be sentenced July 25 in Fairfax County Circuit Court. He faces a maximum possible prison term of more than 35 years.
