Free Mid-Winter Festival Packs Music, Dance and Food Into One Day

A free folk festival will bring live music, dance demonstrations, workshops, storytelling and family activities to Browne Academy in Alexandria on March 22, 2025.

A free folk festival will bring live music, dance demonstrations, workshops, storytelling and family activities to Browne Academy in Alexandria on March 22, 2025.

The Mid-Winter Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 5917 Telegraph Road. A community dance will follow from 7 to 10 p.m.

The 2025 performer lineup includes Capital Accord Chorus, Capitol Hillbillies, Wombat Crossing, Rock Creek Morris Women, Foggy Bottom Morris Men, RAYMI, the Archie Edwards Blues Heritage Foundation and the Fiddlin’ Willie Band.

Visitors can also participate in singing and instrument workshops and enjoy other programming throughout the day.

Two Smooth Dudes Food Truck will serve food from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., followed by The Roaming Coyote from 3 to 8 p.m.
