Cirque de Paris will make its Sterling debut at Dulles Town Center, presenting a 90-minute show under the Big Top from April 30 through May 10.
Producer and director Anouchka Bouglione is the seventh generation of France’s Bouglione circus family. Her new production brings together European circus artists performing as an ensemble in the United States for the first time.
The show combines European circus traditions with the Bouglione family’s French style. Featured performers include the Supka Family juggling troupe, two traditional circus clowns and Bouglione’s children, Noah and Alyana, making their season debut.
The family’s circus history includes Cirque d’Hiver in Paris, which Bouglione’s great-grandfather Joseph acquired in 1934 with his brothers Alexandre, Sampion and Firmin. Known collectively as the Four Brothers Bouglione, they gained wider recognition after the venue was used to film the 1955 movie “Trapeze,” starring Tony Curtis, Gina Lollobrigida and Burt Lancaster.
