A Lincolnia man was arrested after gunshots were reported in a neighborhood near a school, according to Fairfax County police.
Officers responded to the 6400 block of Montrose Street at about 1 p.m. on Jan. 17. They found evidence that a firearm had been discharged and determined that the suspected shooter lived nearby. No one was injured.
Police went to the residence and tried to persuade the man to come outside, but he initially refused. Following brief negotiations, officers took 30-year-old Erick Agustin of Lincolnia into custody.
Agustin suffered a police K9 bite during the arrest and was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
He was later taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with reckless handling of a firearm, reckless discharge of a firearm within 1,000 feet of a school, obstruction of justice and reckless driving. He has since been released.
