Warm weather set the scene for Mount Vernon At Home’s annual Ice Cream Social on May 14 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.

Members, volunteers and other local residents created their own sundaes from an assortment of flavors and toppings, including vanilla, chocolate, fresh fruit and sprinkles.

The event also featured a raffle. Winners included Catherine Wagner; Jim Zalewski, manager of Funeral Choices and an event sponsor; Arlyne Goodweather; and Mount Vernon At Home board member Steve Csontos.

Founded in 2007, Mount Vernon At Home helps adults 55 and older remain active in their communities while continuing to live independently. The organization has 140 members and 30 volunteers and provides a range of activities and services.

Mount Vernon At Home belongs to the Village to Village Network, which includes more than 300 similar organizations nationwide.
