Fire investigators are asking for the public’s help after flames broke out early Sunday, May 3, 2026, at a vacant building in the 11100 block of Popes Head Road.
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue was called at 3:06 a.m. after someone driving past the one-story building spotted the fire and contacted 911. No injuries were reported.
The building had been vacant and listed for sale for an extended period. Investigators determined that a group of people had been at the property on the evening of the fire.
Evidence also indicated that trespassers had previously used the site to start campfires or vandalize the vacant building.
Anyone who was at or near the property on or before the weekend of May 3, or who has information that could help investigators close the case, is asked to come forward.
