Creative Cauldron will close its 2025-26 theatrical season with Little Women: The Musical, staging the Broadway adaptation at the Richard Hausler Theatre in Falls Church from May 14 through June 7, 2026.

Inspired by Louisa May Alcott’s semi-autobiographical novel, the musical follows Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March as they grow from childhood into adulthood during the Civil War. Their story centers on sisterhood, family ties and the determination to forge an independent path.

Founding Artistic Director Laura Connors Hull directs the production, with Bharati Soman serving as music director and Helen Hayes Award nominee Matt Conner as assistant director.

“There is no better way to close this season than with a story that celebrates the strength of the human spirit,” Hull said. She described the musical as a reminder that family and imagination can sustain people through difficult circumstances.

The adaptation features music by Jason Howland, lyrics by Mindi Dickstein and a book by Allen Knee. The original production received nominations for a Tony Award, an Outer Critics Circle Award and three Drama Desk Awards.

Kyle Smith Truby leads the cast as Jo. The principal company also includes Jason Zuckerman as Laurie, Odette Gutierrez as Beth, Gretchen Kaylor as Amy, Shelby Young as Meg, Carolyn Burke as Marmee, David Schoonover as John Brooke, Adian Chapman as Professor Bhaer, Audrey Baker as Aunt March and Michael McGovern as Mr. Laurence.

Chelsea Williamson and Phllipos Sourvinos serve as understudies and chorus members. Musical Theatre Ensemble members Madeline Corley, Whit Jenkins, Marie Solander, Jason Gonzales, Jacob Wilson, Emma Lynch, Ely Tarrant and Tatiana Lund also appear in the show.

The creative team includes choreographer Suzy Alden, lighting designer Lynn Joslin, set and properties designer Margie Jervis, costume designer Tessa Grippaudo, stage manager Nicholas Goodman and intimacy coordinator Stefan Sittig. The intimate staging will evoke both the March family parlor and the dramatic “blood and guts” stories imagined by Jo.

Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays at Creative Cauldron, 127 E. Broad St. in Falls Church. Tickets cost $50 for Tier One seating, $40 for Tier Two and $25 for students. The production is sponsored by the Savada-Stevenson Family and Frosch Travel.
