McLean captured its second straight Liberty District girls gymnastics championship with the highest team score in all four events.

The Highlanders finished with 139.825 points, comfortably ahead of host Washington-Liberty at 131.7. Marshall placed third with 127.725.

Skylar Thomas led McLean with a third-place all-around score of 35.075. She finished second on the uneven bars with an 8.925 and tied for seventh on the balance beam at 8.65.

Olivia Nguyen took fifth in the all-around with 34.3 points, placing second on vault with a 9.05 and fourth on beam with a 9.2.

Addie Gevinson finished seventh in the all-around at 33.775. She was fourth on floor with an 8.8, seventh on bars at 8.375 and ninth on vault at 8.525.

Delilah Tanner placed 11th in the all-around with 32.725 points. She tied for fourth on vault with an 8.8 and finished 10th on floor at 8.575.

McLean’s Isabelle Padgett won the uneven bars with a 9.125. Evie Klett tied for fourth on bars at 8.65 and placed fifth on beam with a 9.0, while Brooke Hawken scored 8.275 on beam and 8.375 on floor.

The Highlanders posted team totals of 34.8 on vault, 35.075 on bars, 35.55 on beam and 34.4 on floor, leading the field in each event.

Molly Peksens paced Marshall by finishing fourth in the all-around with 34.875 points. She placed second on both beam, scoring 9.425, and floor, scoring 9.2, while taking sixth on vault with an 8.75.

Marshall’s Nicole Ghanem recorded a 32.35 all-around score, and Ava Krasner finished at 32.05.
