Metro has canceled previously announced track work on the Orange and Silver lines for Saturday and Sunday, May 23 and 24, because of weather. All six rail lines are expected to provide normal service throughout the weekend.
On Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, Metrorail will operate from 6 a.m. until midnight. Metrobus will follow a Sunday schedule.
MetroAccess subscription trips will be canceled for the holiday. Customers who need to travel that day must make a separate reservation.
Parking will be free at every Metro-owned lot and garage during the weekend and on Memorial Day. Weekend fares will apply Saturday and Sunday, followed by normal weekday fares Monday.
Riders can check real-time service information through the MetroPulse app or wmata.com and receive text or email notices by signing up for MetroAlerts. Updates are also available from Metro’s accounts on X and Bluesky.
