A recreational advisory for the Potomac River has been lifted after water quality improved following a major sewage spill. A section of the Potomac Interceptor collapsed Jan. 19, releasing hundreds of millions of gallons of untreated sewage into the river.

Tulip Day will bring 150,000 freshly bloomed flowers to the National Mall on Sunday, March 15. The event runs from 11:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., and ticket holders can pick bouquets of up to 10 tulips each.
