A full-floor penthouse at JW Marriott Residences Reston Station sold for $10.9 million, setting a Virginia record for a condominium sale, according to the development’s owner and the brokerage that led the transaction.

The residence occupies the building’s 28th floor. Its sale surpassed the previous Virginia condominium sale-price record: a $10.25 million transaction at JW Marriott Residences Reston Station in April 2026.

The latest sale was announced Aug. 5, 2026. The penthouse was custom designed in collaboration with its buyer, according to information provided by the developer and selling brokerage. The buyer’s identity was not disclosed in the supplied material.

The home has 360-degree sight lines extending from Tysons to the Blue Ridge Mountains, according to Comstock Holding Companies, the project’s developer, and McWilliams Ballard, the brokerage that led the sale. Matt Cummings was identified as the person who led the transaction for McWilliams Ballard.

The new record follows a rapid series of high-end condominium sales in Northern Virginia. Before the two 2026 transactions at JW Marriott Residences Reston Station, the state’s condominium sale-price record was a $5.95 million sale of a 27th-floor condominium in Rosslyn in 2024.

The JW Marriott Residences Reston Station collection opened in September 2025. More than 90 residences have generated $115 million in sales since then, according to Comstock Holding Companies and McWilliams Ballard. Those figures, as well as the record-setting transaction, were provided through statements from the developer and selling brokerage; independent closing documentation was not included in the supplied material.

JW Marriott Residences Reston Station also includes a 247-room hotel. Comstock Holding Companies is led by Chairman and CEO Chris Clemente.

The penthouse sale comes as other development activity continues around Reston Station. Fairfax County’s Board of Supervisors recently approved a rezoning application for Pulte Group that would more than double the size of the nearby Lofts at Reston Station, according to the supplied information. QTS Data Centers also signed a lease for the 11th, 12th and 13th floors at 1800 Reston Row Plaza for its headquarters, according to a Comstock announcement.

The supplied material does not include the transaction’s exact closing date, deed records or the buyer’s name. The $10.9 million price and its status as a Virginia condominium record rely primarily on statements from Comstock Holding Companies and McWilliams Ballard.
