Fairfax County transportation officials will hold a community workshop Nov. 12, 2025, to gather feedback on proposed improvements along Route 29 for pedestrians, bicyclists, transit riders and drivers.
The workshop begins at 6:30 p.m. at Timber Lane Elementary School, 2737 West Street in Falls Church.
The Route 29 Active Transportation Study covers the corridor from inside the Beltway to Tripps Run at the border between Fairfax County and the City of Falls Church. The study aims to make walking and biking more comfortable, improve connections across Route 29 and expand access to transit while reinforcing that the roadway must accommodate all users.
Attendees will be able to comment on potential changes involving sidewalks and pedestrian access, bicycle travel, transit and the street itself.
Participants are asked to RSVP by emailing Nanditha.Paradkar@fairfaxcounty.gov or calling 703-877-5600, TTY 711.
