A Harrisonburg man with more than 320,000 TikTok followers allegedly confined and sexually assaulted a woman during what he presented as a spiritual counseling session in Merrifield, according to Fairfax County police and court documents.
Marco Antonio Ocampos Zamora, 36, reportedly contacted the woman through TikTok and WhatsApp before offering to counsel her in person.
Ocampos Zamora drove to Merrifield on Nov. 24 and met the woman inside his vehicle, parked in the 2700 block of Prosperity Avenue. A criminal complaint says he claimed an “evil spirit” was inside her genitalia and told her he needed to touch her stomach to remove it.
The woman refused and expressed discomfort, according to the complaint. Ocampos Zamora then allegedly moved the vehicle to another parking space and instructed her to enter the back seat for a prayer intended to remove the spirit.
Police say he unbuttoned the woman’s pants and assaulted her. When she attempted to leave, he allegedly restrained her by the stomach, blocked her exit and said she could not go until he had finished removing the spirit.
The woman reported the alleged assault to police in December. Harrisonburg police arrested Ocampos Zamora at his home on Feb. 27, and he was later extradited to Fairfax County.
Ocampos Zamora faces one felony count of abduction with intent to defile and one felony count of object sexual penetration by force. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 18.
Investigators believe there may be other victims who communicated with Ocampos Zamora online. Police are asking them to contact the Fairfax County Police Department’s Major Crimes Bureau or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Solvers.
