Fairfax County police are searching for a person of interest after a woman died at a bus stop in Hybla Valley on Monday night.
Officers were called shortly after 7 p.m. to the 7400 block of Richmond Highway, south of Lockheed Boulevard. They found an unidentified woman inside the bus shelter with trauma to her upper body.
Officers attempted to help her, but she died at the scene, Fairfax County Police Capt. Chris Cosgriff said.
On Tuesday, police released a photo of Abdul Jalloh, 32, identifying him as the last person seen with the woman. Police confirmed that Jalloh is considered a person of interest and warned that he may be dangerous. Authorities urged the public not to approach him.
Investigators believe people in the heavily traveled area may have information about what happened. Cosgriff said detectives would remain at the scene overnight, with an increased police presence focused on finding potential witnesses.
Anyone who knows Jalloh’s whereabouts should call 911. Other information can be reported to Fairfax County Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.
