Seventeen Fairfax County employers and properties were recognized Feb. 3, 2026, for programs designed to make commuting easier, reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality.
The Board of Supervisors honored the organizations as Best Workplaces for Commuters, a designation recognizing benefits such as telework, flexible schedules, transit subsidies, electric-vehicle charging and bicycle facilities.
More than 190 Fairfax County workplaces have earned the recognition since 2010. The latest honorees also join more than 90 employers recognized across Virginia, which now ranks first in the nation for the number of designated Best Workplaces for Commuters.
The 2026 Fairfax County honorees
AAC Inc., a federal systems integrator with more than four decades of experience, was recognized for offering hybrid and remote work arrangements and transit benefits at its Vienna office in the Providence District.
Apple Federal Credit Union, a member-owned financial institution that has served the region for 70 years, earned recognition for its Fairfax Corner headquarters in the Braddock District. The office is near Monument Garage and Connector and Metro service, while employees have access to hybrid schedules, carpooling, EV chargers, a fitness center and nearby restaurants.
Arrowbrook Centre, a mixed-use residential and retail community in Herndon’s Dranesville District, became the first Virginia community to receive the program’s Residential Site designation. Its commuter resources include an information kiosk, EV charging, a transportation webpage outlining sustainable options and a help desk for tenants’ questions.
Association Innovation and Management Inc., a Reston consulting firm specializing in association management and marketing, offers hybrid and remote schedules, transit benefits, showers, lockers and bicycle storage at its Hunter Mill District location.
AT&T was honored for its corporate office in Chantilly’s Sully District after relocating its Northern Virginia operations there. Employees receive flexible-work and transit benefits, along with EV charging, a fitness center with showers and an on-site grab-and-go food kiosk.
Audi of America, headquartered in Reston’s Hunter Mill District, was recognized for hybrid and flexible scheduling and an array of benefits serving employees who commute to the office.
Bana Solutions, a McLean-based IT infrastructure and data analytics consulting firm, provides remote and hybrid options at its Providence District headquarters. The site also offers daycare, restaurants, showers, lockers and bicycle storage.
Dev Technology Group, a federal technology services provider in Reston, earned its designation for hybrid schedules and access to Metro, parking and EV chargers. Its Hunter Mill District location also includes restaurants, bicycle storage and a fitness center with showers and lockers.
ICF expanded its commuter program after moving its headquarters to Reston near Metrorail and the Washington & Old Dominion Trail. The global technology and solutions provider offers flexible remote and hybrid schedules, transit and bicycle subsidies, EV chargers, a fitness center and nearby dining.
KNZ Solutions, an IT consulting and professional services firm in Vienna’s Providence District, offers hybrid and remote work, bicycle storage, refreshments and on-site facilities for active commuters. Employees can also use pre-tax transit benefits.
Markon, a Falls Church mission integrator focused on the federal government, supports telecommuting, carpools and vanpools. Its Mason District workplace also provides transit benefits and bicycle storage.
MDW Associates, a McLean small business established in 2012 to serve federal clients, was recognized for hybrid and remote schedules and compressed workweeks. Employees can use flexible spending arrangements for pre-tax parking and transit expenses, while active commuters have access to showers and lockers.
Northern Virginia Community College received recognition for its three Fairfax County campuses: Annandale in the Braddock District, Springfield in the Franconia District and Fairfax in the Springfield District. Employees receive transit benefits and direct access to Connector buses. Faculty and students can also use bicycle storage, EV chargers, on-site cafés and fitness centers equipped with showers and lockers.
Peterson Companies, one of the region’s largest privately owned real estate developers, is headquartered in Fairfax’s Braddock District beside the Monument Drive Parking Garage and Transit Center. Employees may telework one day per week and have access to EV chargers, showers, lockers, bicycle storage and nearby restaurants, stores and fitness facilities.
Syntelligent Analytic Solutions, a Falls Church professional services and consulting firm serving government and private-sector clients, was honored for its remote and hybrid schedules and transit-benefit program.
Systems Planning & Analysis, a global IT provider supporting national security priorities, earned recognition for flexible-work arrangements and extensive transit benefits. The Alexandria-headquartered company has Fairfax County offices in Chantilly’s Sully District, Lorton’s Mount Vernon District and Vienna’s Providence District.
Take2 Consulting, an IT and workforce solutions firm in Vienna’s Hunter Mill District, provides hybrid and telework options from a Metro-accessible headquarters. Its commuter amenities include bicycle parking, a gym with a locker room and showers, and an on-site café.
Marcus Moore, transportation demand management team lead for the Fairfax County Department of Transportation, said the county remains among the country’s most active and successful Best Workplaces for Commuters communities as it marks its 16th year promoting the program.
