Three people were arrested after a string of grab-and-run thefts at Tysons retailers on June 3, with detectives recovering more than $4,500 in stolen merchandise.
Detectives responded around 12:38 p.m. to a clothing store in the 1900 block of Chain Bridge Road after an employee reported that three women had grabbed merchandise and fled without paying.
Investigators determined that merchandise had also been taken from several other clothing stores at Tysons Corner Center. They identified a vehicle connected to the women in a nearby parking garage.
Soon afterward, a loss-prevention officer at another store in the 2000 block of International Drive reported a similar theft. Surveillance images helped detectives confirm that the same suspects were linked to each incident.
Police issued a lookout for the vehicle and added it to the Flock Safety alert system. Detectives with the Auto Crimes Enforcement Unit located it in the 2900 block of District Avenue in Merrifield.
Paige Semaj Page, 18, of Washington, D.C.; Beautiful Barber, 18, of Washington, D.C.; and a 17-year-old girl from Maryland were taken into custody without incident.
Detectives recovered all of the stolen merchandise from the vehicle and returned it to the affected retailers.
Page was charged with three counts of grand larceny, stolen property with intent to sell, conspiracy to commit larceny, possession of burglarious tools and petit larceny. She was released from the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on an unsecured $2,000 bond.
Barber was charged with three counts of grand larceny, stolen property with intent to sell, conspiracy to commit larceny and petit larceny. She was also released from the detention center on an unsecured $2,000 bond.
The juvenile was charged by petition with three counts of grand larceny, larceny with intent to sell or distribute, conspiracy to commit a felony and petit larceny. She was released to her parents.
