Alexandria residents are being invited to help shape upcoming improvements at the Schuyler Hamilton Jones Skatepark during two community engagement events in May.
The city’s Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities will hold a virtual meeting from 7 to 8 p.m. on May 14. Participants must register in advance to join the Zoom session and share their suggestions.
A second opportunity will take place in person from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at the skatepark, located at 3540 Wheeler Avenue. The pop-up event will feature interactive discussions about the park’s future and give community members a chance to offer ideas directly.
Complimentary snacks will be provided during the gathering. Residents are encouraged to attend with friends and family and bring their interest in skateboarding and the local park.
People unable to participate in either event may still review the improvement process and submit comments through Alexandria’s online project page.
