American Girl will unveil its smaller, redesigned store at Tysons Corner Center at 10 a.m. Saturday, less than two weeks after closing its longtime two-story location.

The grand opening weekend runs Jan. 17-19. The first 100 customers to make a purchase Saturday will receive a free tote bag, while all visitors can pick up an American Girl Icons poster while supplies last.

Other promotions include a free gingham hairbow for Raquel Reyes dolls with a salon hairstyling and double rewards points on purchases for members.

American Girl closed its shop near Bloomingdale’s on Jan. 4 after nearly 15 years at the mall. Its new first-floor location, Space N10L at 1961 Chain Bridge Road, is near Barnes & Noble.

Although the new store occupies less space, it retains many familiar services. Shoppers will find dolls and accessories, a doll styling salon, customization stations, a repair care center and appointments with personal shopping guides.

One prominent feature will not return: the bistro where customers previously could reserve tea times.

The store will operate from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

American Girl’s former storefront has been covered as possible changes loom for the mall’s west end. Macerich, the mall’s owner, presented plans to investors last May for a renovation featuring a “luxury market” and “upscale dining.”

Rumored additions include Italian food-and-retail destination Eataly and Taiwanese dim sum chain Din Tai Fung. If those plans move forward, each brand would open its first location in the Washington region.
