Arlington’s 55+ Programs are offering a full slate of activities, from retirement planning and Beatles sing-alongs to fitness classes, creative workshops and St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

Most programs take place in person at Arlington’s 55+ Centers and require a 55+ Pass, available for an annual fee starting at $30. Participants can register online or call 703-228-4747.

The Northern Virginia Senior Olympics is also seeking volunteers to assist event directors from Sept. 19 through Oct. 10. Additional openings include an experienced webmaster and someone to write press releases and contact potential patrons. Interested volunteers can email Judy Massabny at jmassa@arlingtonva.us.

Weekly senior ice skating continues Mondays from 8:40 to 9:50 a.m. at the MedStar Capitals Iceplex in Ballston Quarter. Admission is $1 and includes skate rental, while roof-level parking on Level 8 costs $1. Advance registration for Senior Public Skate is required through the iceplex website.

A three-part “Retire Well, Live Well” series begins at 1 p.m. Monday, March 9, at Aurora Hills 55+ Center. The opening session will address Social Security, tax planning, early retirement and IRA accounts. Center Director Emily Ingram and Wealth Advisor Brian Fyock will lead the program. Participants must register separately for each session; no 55+ Pass is required. The first session’s registration number is 913404-01.

Pianist Ken Schellenberg and singers Judy McVerry, Sherry Hickey and Cameron Fletcher will present “Meet the Beatles—Part II,” featuring 22 Beatles songs and a sing-along. Reader’s Theater gives everyone a role in a lively reading of vintage radio plays, accompanied by Schellenberg on piano. The program begins at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, at Walter Reed. Registration is 913301-16.

Arlington Mill will host a Supper Club at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 11. Attendees should bring dinner, while the center will provide dessert and nonalcoholic beverages. Registration is 913801-01.

The Third Act Dance Ensemble begins an 11-session run at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, at Walter Reed. The weekly group will rehearse an original piece of choreography before performing it. Sessions continue through May 20 and cost $99. Registration is 913802-01.

A total-body bootcamp led by certified trainer Candice Kaup will meet at 1:30 p.m. Wednesdays from March 11 through May 27 at Long Bridge Aquatics. All fitness levels are welcome. The 12-session program costs $66, with registration under 913100-01.

Instructor Joni Leonardo will teach paper quilling at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at Lubber Run. Participants will use paper strips and basic tools to create raised images, with supplies included. The class costs $20. Registration is 913310-04.

The travel group will get an early start on St. Patrick’s Day with a festive lunch Thursday, March 12, at the Celtic House Restaurant. Transportation costs $12 for Arlington residents and $14 for nonresidents; the meal is not included. Registration is 902603-02.

Virginia Cooperative Extension will mark National Nutrition Month with guidance on making smart food choices and developing healthy habits. The program begins at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 12, at Arlington Mill. Registration is 913501-05.

Volunteer Barbara Fillup will lead a two-part “Digital Peace of Mind” series at Arlington Mill. The first session, at 1 p.m. Friday, March 13, will focus on decluttering files and protecting privacy and personal data. Registration is 913403-03. A second session at 1 p.m. Friday, March 20, will cover digital legacies and research tools. Registration is 913403-04.

“Spring Fever,” an outdoor silent disco, begins at 4 p.m. Friday, March 13, on the plaza at Arlington Mill. Teens and 55+ participants can use headphones to enjoy oldies, Top 40 hits or smooth jazz while dancing, painting or sipping mocktails. Registration is 913899-02.

Aurora Hills will serve traditional Irish food and present music during a St. Patrick’s Day luncheon at 12:30 p.m. Friday, March 13. Registration, number 913899-01, is due by March 6.

Arlington Mill’s First Friday Social offers a relaxed gathering with music, refreshments and activities at 1 p.m. Friday, March 13. Registration is 913801-04.

A Gyrokinesis program combining movement, breathing and mental focus begins at 8:10 a.m. Saturday, March 14, at Lubber Run. The 11-session series continues Saturdays through May 30 and costs $61. Registration is 913100-02.
