An outdoor market transformed a Clarendon street for two chilly days in early December, bringing together local vendors selling seasonal gifts, specialty foods and services at The Crossing.
The pop-up featured chocolates, perfume, jewelry, artwork, handmade greeting cards and baby clothes. Super Soup drew a steady stream of customers as cold weather helped boost demand for something warm.
Not every offering fit the traditional holiday-gift mold. The Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Falls Church promoted discounted lessons in swing, Latin and ballroom dancing, while Olivia Jones of WOW Closets offered help with closet organization.
The event was organized by URBNmarket, which connects artisan vendors with shoppers interested in handmade and vintage goods. Additional markets were scheduled before Christmas at Mosaic and in Bethesda.
