The Original Pancake House in West Falls Church has permanently closed after 15 years of serving its signature cinnamon-glazed apple pancakes and powdered-sugar-covered Dutch Baby pancakes.

“After 15 amazing years, our restaurant will be closing,” a notice posted on the front door said. The message thanked customers for their loyalty, support and friendship, calling it a privilege to serve the community.

Operations appeared to end at 3 p.m. Monday, May 25. The restaurant’s equipment and furniture have since been offered through an online auction described as a short-notice restaurant closing.

The restaurant first operated at 370 W. Broad Street in the Broaddale Shopping Center. In 2010, it moved outside Falls Church city limits to the Shops at West Falls Church at 7395 Route 29, Suite M.

Beyond its brunch menu, the restaurant became known for supporting local businesses, events and charitable organizations.

Longtime owner Jeff Bulman hosted Christmas breakfasts for disadvantaged residents, including severely disabled guests who were served pancake smoothies. Volunteers also distributed toys and books to children. The restaurant later continued its community involvement through fundraisers benefiting groups such as the Arc of Northern Virginia.

By 2025, Bulman had largely retired, leaving daily management of his three restaurants to his son-in-law. Original Pancake House locations remain open in Bethesda and Rockville. Current ownership of the West Falls Church restaurant could not be confirmed.
