Ridley Scott’s landmark science-fiction noir “Blade Runner” is coming to Capital One Hall with an immersive twist: an 11-piece ensemble will perform Vangelis’ celebrated electronic score live as the film plays.

“Blade Runner Live” is scheduled for Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at Capital One Hall, 7750 Capital One Tower Road in Tysons. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday at 10 a.m.

The Fairfax Symphony Orchestra is presenting the event after its sold-out “How to Train Your Dragon” concert in March, though the orchestra itself will not perform onstage.

Instead, The Avex Ensemble will provide the live accompaniment. The group features synthesizers, an electric string quartet, a vocal soloist, saxophone, flute, electric and acoustic bass players, and percussionists.

The screening will feature the 2007 “Final Cut” of “Blade Runner.” That edition is considered the version closest to Scott’s original vision because it is the only cut over which he had full artistic control.

The concert joins a varied Capital One Hall schedule spanning music, comedy, theater, dance and film events.

  • The Big Jam 2026, May 9: The Vienna Jammers youth percussion ensemble returns for its annual concert and fundraiser, joined by RimbaTubes performer Snubby J.
  • Asian Comedy Showcase, May 22: Queens native Andre Kim headlines an all-Asian stand-up lineup during Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
  • “The Music Man,” May 29-31: The “Broadway in Tysons” season concludes with Meredith Willson’s musical about a con artist pitching an Iowa town on a boys’ marching band.
  • “Elmo’s Got the Moves,” June 5: Elmo and other “Sesame Street” characters lead families through dancing, stretching and games set to familiar songs.
  • Neil Forever, June 6: A Neil Diamond tribute band performs.
  • “The Princess Bride,” June 7: A screening of Rob Reiner’s film will be followed by a moderated conversation with Cary Elwes. VIP packages offer premium seating, a meet-and-greet and signed copies of Elwes’ book about making the movie.
  • An Evening with John Cusack, July 24: The actor visits Tysons for a screening of “Say Anything” and an accompanying appearance.
  • Art Garfunkel, Oct. 30: The Simon & Garfunkel singer performs with a band, with classics such as “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and “The Sound of Silence” expected in the set.
