A naked man suspected in a monthlong series of burglaries in Centreville was captured on surveillance footage early Wednesday while trying to enter another home, Fairfax County police said.
The latest attempt happened around 5 a.m. April 1 in the 14800 block of Palmerston Square. The man did not get inside, but detectives believe he is connected to four earlier incidents in the London Towne neighborhood dating to March 5.
Police described the suspect as a thin Black man between 6 feet, 1 inch and 6 feet, 3 inches tall.
Wednesday’s incident was the neighborhood’s fifth burglary or attempted burglary in about a month. The man entered homes in three of the cases but did not take anything. Most incidents happened during the early morning, and he fled when confronted by residents.
Maj. James Curry of the Fairfax County Police Department urged anyone who recognizes the man to contact investigators. He also called on the suspect to turn himself in.
