Washington Commanders fans across Northern Virginia have plenty of places to gather Sunday as the team faces the Philadelphia Eagles in its first NFC Championship game in more than 30 years.

The day begins at 1 p.m. with an official Commanders pep rally at the Verizon store in Springfield Plaza. Mascot Major Teddy, the Commanders dance team and other team legends are expected to appear before the 3 p.m. kickoff.

Crystal City Sports Pub, at 529 23rd Street in Arlington, plans to show the action on more than 200 televisions, including a big screen. The pub is offering $7.99 appetizers and beer specials throughout the afternoon.

Kalypso’s Sports Tavern, at 1617 Washington Plaza North in Reston, will offer free barbecue wings with entrees.

Glory Days, at 9459 Lorton Market Street in Lorton, will have the game on its televisions, with food and beer available at regular prices. The restaurant also plans its annual Super Bowl Sunday party, which carries a $35 entry fee and includes food and drinks.

Burtons in Kingstowne, at 6452A Old Beulah St. in Alexandria, has six televisions behind the bar tuned to sports. Chili’s Grill & Bar, at 6601 Richmond Highway in Alexandria, also expects its usual Sunday crowd of football fans.

Theismann’s Restaurant, at 1800A Diagonal Road in Alexandria, is another local viewing option.

The Commanders-Eagles NFC Championship game begins at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26. The AFC Championship matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills follows at 6:30 p.m.
