Divan Restaurant offers Persian-Mediterranean cuisine in an intimate, polished setting at 1313 Old Chain Bridge Road in McLean.

Its menu draws on traditional Persian combinations of saffron, pomegranate, barberries, cinnamon and fresh herbs, pairing them with basmati rice and slow-cooked or flame-grilled meats. Dishes are prepared from scratch daily, with halal meats and locally sourced ingredients used when possible.

The restaurant’s kabob selections include koobideh, made with ground beef; barg, featuring marinated beef tenderloin; and the Sultani combination, which serves both. Other choices include garlic-and-lemon-marinated Lamb Chops Shandiz and Kabob Torsh, distinguished by a tangy pomegranate marinade.

Traditional starters include Aash Reshteh, an herb and noodle soup, and Soupeh Joh, a barley soup. Baklava and saffron ice cream are among the Persian desserts available.

Vegetarian choices are offered, along with many rice-based dishes suited to diners seeking gluten-conscious options.

Divan also provides catering, private dining and event hosting for celebrations, corporate gatherings and other occasions. Prix-fixe menus may be available for holidays and special events such as Nowruz.
