Driver Sought After Fatal Annandale Hit-and-Run

Fairfax County police are searching for a driver who allegedly left the scene after striking and killing a pedestrian in Annandale on Wednesday morning.

Fairfax County police are searching for a driver who allegedly left the scene after striking and killing a pedestrian in Annandale on Wednesday morning.

Christopher Young, 34, was crossing Little River Turnpike at Shelley Lane when he was hit by a sedan traveling westbound, according to police.

Officers responded to the crash at about 7 a.m. Young was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, but he later died.

The driver did not stop after the collision, police said. Investigators are now seeking the sedan involved and have released an image of the vehicle as part of their effort to identify its driver.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Little River Turnpike and Shelley Lane in Fairfax County.
