Easter week brought a sharp slowdown in home-shopping activity across the Mid-Atlantic, with 62,454 showings recorded during the week ending April 5, 2026. That was 20.1% fewer than during the comparable week in 2025.
The holiday’s timing also appeared to affect sellers. The market added 6,562 new listings, a year-over-year decline of 9.7%.
Most subregions reported fewer showings than a year earlier. The Maryland-West Virginia Panhandle and Maryland’s Eastern Shore were the only areas to post increases. The Panhandle was also the sole subregion where new listings rose year over year.
Despite the week’s dip in activity, buyers had more homes to choose from than they did a year ago. The Mid-Atlantic market had 37,709 active listings, up 6.5% from the same week in 2025, as homes continued to remain available for longer periods.
