Fairfax County was reportedly considered for the Sphere’s second location before the Las Vegas concert venue selected National Harbor in Maryland in January.
State Sen. Scott Surovell referenced the discussions while responding to Gov. Abigail Spanberger’s veto of his bill that would have permitted a casino in Fairfax County. The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority declined to say whether it knew about the potential Sphere deal.
