Pond Roofing & Exteriors is marking more than six decades of serving homeowners across Northern Virginia.

World War II veteran Bob Pond founded the Fairfax-based company in 1964 as a roofing business. It is now led by his son, Patrick Readyhough, and has expanded into a full-service exterior home remodeling contractor.

Roofing remains central to the business, with asphalt shingle, metal, slate and EPDM systems among its offerings. The company also installs siding, including James Hardie products; copper and aluminum gutters, downspouts and gutter guards; energy-efficient windows and doors; and skylights and sun tunnels.

Its project process includes a free inspection, recommendations for the homeowner and a final walkthrough after the work is completed.

The Better Business Bureau gives Pond Roofing an A+ rating, and the company has been accredited by the organization since 2002. It also received multiple Angi Super Service Awards between 2018 and 2024 for work involving roofing, siding, gutters and skylights.

Customers have cited the contractor’s communication and responsiveness. Repeat customer Nancy P. said the company handled her replacement windows, siding and roofing, while Laura M. praised its use of project photos and its return visit to change the color of shingles installed at a McLean property.

Pond Roofing also participates in local events and supports charitable efforts in Northern Virginia. The company says compassion, open communication, continuous improvement and excellence remain its guiding values as it enters its seventh decade.
