Fairfax Fire and Rescue Celebrates Dozens of Promotions

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department honored the accomplishments and service of its members during a recognition ceremony on March 5, 2025.

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department honored the accomplishments and service of its members during a recognition ceremony on March 5, 2025.

Master Technician Kyle Anderson received recognition for 30 years of service.

Four civilian employees advanced to new positions: Kyle Cash to apparatus manager, Christina Schmidt to financial specialist IV, Amadea Handoko to geographic information spatial analyst III and Tina Vu to recruit firefighter.

Benjamin Jenkins and Jason Pryor were promoted to battalion chief.

Seventeen members became captains: Jon Bailey, Ruth Ballard, Ryan Beuttenmuller, Austin Bigdely, David Eimers, Brian Hallahan, Tion Johnson, Chuk Li, Jordan Linhart, Linda Neimeier, David Prohaska, Angelo Scarola, Christopher Seaman, Michael Voigt, Joshua Wallace, John Winstead and Mitchell Zumwalt.

Eighteen members were promoted to lieutenant: Timothy Adams, Jacob Brendel, Daniel Bridges, Michael Cajayon, Rachael Callison, Ryan Dussia, Laura Elliott, Danny Gallardo, Kristopher Ganz, Anthony Karashowsky, William Kendall, Gregory Leake, Kevin Nishiyama, Cory Parry, Matthew Resh, Jill Sears, Matthew Sherwood and Justin Williams.

Six members advanced to technician HazMat: Cory Kirby, Timothy Leonard, Sam Mooradian, Tyler Pennington, James Walters and Kevin Winkler.

Nineteen others were promoted to technician: Ben Gaynor, Alexander Gonzalez, Austin Gum, Jeb Hayden, Timothy Hussey, Matthew Kahle, Cameron Kotwicki, Nathan Leite, Michael Loblanco, Joseph Marino, Andrew McCandliss, Jacob Moore, Raymond Moore, Andrew Schell, Keenan Sperry, Maria Clarice Wage, Robert Wealand, Lauren Wickson and Patrick Yeh.
