Fairfax County Public Library is celebrating National Library Week from April 6-12, 2025, by highlighting the wide range of free resources available across its website and 23 branches.
Along with books, library users can access more than 60 online research databases and attend educational and entertainment programs for all ages.
The library also lends some unexpected items, including board games, binoculars and thermal cameras. Meeting and study spaces are available, as are gathering rooms for nonprofit organizations.
Residents can share their favorite free resource—or what they value most about the library—by completing a notecard at any branch during the week. Comments can also be submitted online.
National Library Week began in 1958 as an annual American Library Association observance recognizing the contributions of libraries and their workers to individuals and communities.
