Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis says federal immigration enforcement efforts under President Donald Trump’s administration have not produced evidence of declining community trust in local police.
Davis pointed to domestic violence calls as one measure of whether residents feel comfortable contacting officers. Fairfax County recorded no substantial change in that data during 2025, he said.
Drivers could face delays on northbound Route 29 as widening work continues. Weather permitting, the right lane between Clifton Road/Stringfellow Road and Sandy Point Lane will close from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 7-9 and Jan. 12-16 for paving-related work. Tysons-based government contractor 22nd Century Technologies, also known as TSCTI, acquired BT Federal Inc. on Dec. 30. The Reston company was a subsidiary of London-listed telecommunications business BT Group. No purchase price was disclosed, but CEO Anil Sharma described it as TSCTI’s largest acquisition yet and its fourth in slightly more than two years.
Vienna resident Audrey McKeen has signed a professional contract with the National Women’s Soccer League’s Racing Louisville.
