Fairfax Public Art Selfies Could Win Prizes Through September

Fairfax County residents can turn visits to libraries and other public spaces into chances to win arts-related prizes through Sept. 30, 2025.

Fairfax County residents can turn visits to libraries and other public spaces into chances to win arts-related prizes through Sept. 30, 2025.

The Public Art Locator Challenge invites participants to take selfies with publicly accessible artwork anywhere in the county and post them on Facebook or Instagram. The social media scavenger hunt promotes the Public Art Locator, a regional map of statues and other public art.

Participants can earn one raffle entry by photographing artwork already listed in the locator, tagging ArtsFairfax and Fairfax County Public Library, and including the hashtag #PublicArtLocatorChallenge.

Those who add a new artwork to the locator can earn two entries by posting a photo with that piece and using the same tags and hashtag.

Prizes include gift certificates, performance tickets and other experiences offered by Fairfax-area arts organizations.

ArtsFairfax provides funding and resources for the arts in Fairfax County, the City of Fairfax and the City of Falls Church.
