The Fairfax County School Board is accepting applications from Braddock and Franconia district residents interested in helping guide long-term planning for school facilities.
One seat is available for each district on the Facilities Planning Advisory Council. Both appointments expire June 30, 2025, and council members may be reappointed.
The council advises Fairfax County Public Schools staff and the School Board as they develop comprehensive, long-range facility plans. Its 13 members include one representative from each Fairfax County magisterial district, three at-large members and one member representing the City of Fairfax. Members are appointed to three-year terms.
FCPS is particularly interested in applicants with experience in construction, engineering, architecture, land-use planning, development, demographics, government operations or financing.
Applicants must live in the district they seek to represent. Applications are due February 21, 2025, and must be submitted to [email protected]. Information about the council and the application is available online.
