Fairfax County is asking residents to weigh in on its proposed fiscal year 2026 budget. An online survey is available in English, Spanish and Korean, with town halls and public hearings planned for the spring.

Falls Church police are investigating four similar sexual batteries reported between approximately 8:55 and 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25. Investigators are seeking witnesses and believe there may be additional victims.

Brown’s Hardware, the oldest surviving business in Falls Church, is preparing to close after 142 years. The store at 100 W. Broad Street has roughly one-fifth of its inventory left and is offering 50% off everything, with closure expected by the third week of March.

Federal job cuts could complicate the upcoming cherry blossom season around the Tidal Basin. More than 1,000 National Park Service employees, including rangers, have been laid off nationwide, raising concern that further reductions in the Washington region could affect millions of visitors.

Reston Station Boulevard will operate one-way from Friday, Feb. 28, through Sunday, March 2, while crews remove a construction crane. Traffic will be directed east toward Wiehle Avenue, and drivers entering or leaving the transit center should follow posted detour arrows.

Fairfax County police are also seeking help identifying a man accused of entering a restricted area and stealing merchandise from a Pimmit Hills convenience store on Friday, Feb. 21. Officers responded the next morning to the 7400 block of Patterson Road.

At CIA headquarters in Langley, employees are the only people able to reserve a table in the agency’s highly secured dining room. Cellphones are prohibited inside the compound.
