The Falls Church Kiwanis Little League Majors All Stars White Team won the 2026 Virginia Little League District 4 Majors Championship, defeating McLean American 8-4 at Westgate Field.

The victory qualified Falls Church for the 16-team Virginia state tournament, scheduled to begin July 17 at Patriot Park North in Fairfax. Falls Church was scheduled to open pool play at 9 a.m. against District 2 champion Bedford Little League.

Falls Church’s district run included several close games and a late comeback. The team opened pool play with a 2-1 extra-inning loss to Reston, then answered with a 6-5 extra-inning victory over Alexandria. The Alexandria win included two home runs, strong pitching and error-free defense, according to the supplied league account.

Falls Church later completed pool play with a 5-0 victory over McLean National, earning a place in the district crossover round.

In the crossover game at Nike Field in Great Falls, Vienna National scored five runs in the first inning. Falls Church rallied, eventually winning 6-5 on a seventh-inning single to center field. The district championship followed two days later.

McLean American took a 2-0 lead in the title game before Falls Church tied the score in the bottom of the first inning. Falls Church moved ahead in the second on a bases-clearing triple. The team led 8-3 after five innings.

McLean scored once in the final inning and loaded the bases, but the game ended on a groundout. The league account said more than 200 fans attended the championship game.

“Go out and win this game for every FCKLL player that came before you,” assistant coach Jon Labukas told the team, according to the supplied account.

The championship was identified as Falls Church’s fifth District 4 Majors title, following championships in 1958, 1960, 2005 and 2006. Alex Kuczkowski managed the team, with Brad Allan, Jon Labukas and Chris Talbert serving as assistant coaches.

“We’re extremely proud of these boys. Beating Vienna, then McLean, is no small feat,” FCKLL Board President Whitney Owen said.

The state tournament field was described as 16 district winners competing for advancement toward the Little League World Series Southeast Regional in Georgia.

Falls Church’s other all-star teams also competed during the district season. The Red Team, composed of leading 8-, 9- and 10-year-old players, finished pool play 3-2. The Blue Team of 10- and 11-year-olds finished 4-1 but missed the district crossover under run-differential rules. The league also fielded its first Intermediate 13-and-under Grey Team, which finished pool play 2-2.

FCKLL described itself as Virginia’s oldest operating league and reported that its 78th spring season included more than 575 players on 49 teams.
